Keven McAlester
Keven McAlester is an award-winning filmmaker and music video director. His first feature, YOU'RE GONNA MISS ME, details the troubled life of rock legend Roky Erickson. Described by critics as “chilling,” “brilliant,” and “otherworldly Southern gothic literature,” the film received an Independent Spirit Award nomination for best documentary and won a jury prize at AFI's Silverdocs Festival.
His second feature, the DUNGEON MASTERS, reunited him with cinematographer Lee Daniel and boasts a haunting score by Blonde Redhead. The film premiered at the Toronto Film Festival and is scheduled for release in spring 2010. He other recent work includes “Seven Plus or Minus Two,” a film installation commissioned by the Akademie der Künste, Berlin; and “The Fence,” an HBO film he produced. His music videos have garnered various awards, year-end accolades, and festival screenings. He lives in New York and Los Angeles.
