For his seminal TV on the Radio video, Elliot used a Rutt/Etra Video Synthesizer, to create real time effects of footage which was shot on a green-screen.

The Rutt/Etra is an analog synthesizer, created for video raster manipulation. It was used by some of the great contemporary video artists, including Nam June Paik and Steina Vasulka.
