Keven's 2nd Doc to Premiere at Toronto
Keven McAlester's 2nd feature-length documentary, "The Dungeon Master" was announced today as a part of the 2008 Toronto International Film Festival Real to Reel line-up.The movie is a "whimsical look at three adults deeply involved with Dungeons & Dragons explores how the game affects their lives and relationships", was shot by Lee Daniel, and scored by Blonde Redhead.
Wanderlust Up For Three at 2009 D & ADs
Björk's "Wanderlust" has been nominated for three awards at the 2009 D & AD Awards, to be held this June in London.
Encyclopedia Pictura's masterpiece is nominated in the Music Video, Art Direction, and Special Effects categories.
These are Ghost Robot's first D & AD nominations, though hopefully the first of many.
Cropsey Haunts Tribeca 2009
Our documentary feature CROPSEY directed by Joshua Zeman and Barbara Brancaccio had its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival last night. The sold out crowd stayed late for a great Q&A. The press has been great. The film screens 3 more times this week. Go see it for yourself.

Ghost Robot in 3D
Over the course of the next week, three of our stereoscopic 3D pieces will be playing at the Be Film, The Underground Film Festival in New York City.
Björk's "Wanderlust" will be opening the festival Tuesday night, along with a rare screening of Encyclopedia Pictura's unaired Spore spot. Elliot Jokelson's Bonnaroo spot will close out the festival on Saturday, May 2nd.
Each film will be screened in Dolby 3D, the pinnacle of 3D projection. Catch it if you can!
Outside Lands...Outside Bands
Puppets, sing-a-long, and 40 bands names in under two minutes is what we used to make this years line-up video for the Outside Lands Music & Arts Festival. Elliot directed, combining a band of puppets built by James Wojtal and a diddy written by Brian Fountain, resulting in pure catchiness. Somehow, we were able to cram a team of three puppeteers under a tiny 8 x 8 platform. "Ranger Dave" and the Bison were made to resemble characters created for the festivals' overall identity package.
Adam takes Gary Go to Mars
Adam and Matt just finished work on an extensive visual effects job for British pop star, Gary Go.
Adam shot the live-action portions of the video with Academy Films in London, while Ghost Robot wrangled the young Gary footage, miniatures, and post-production. The team turned around quite a convincing product in just about two weeks time.
There were many people involved in helping realize Adam's vision, and we'd like to thank them all by finding more visual effects work to do in-house. You can watch the video here.
ATC wins at AFI
Fresh from it's world premiere at Sundance, Ghost Robot's "Against The Current" won the Special Jury Award at the AFI Dallas International Film Festival 2009. Director Peter Callahan was on the scene to accept the award, and we hope enjoy some delicious Texas barbecue.

Ghost Robot at SXSW
Ghost Robot directors Tommy Pallotta and Keven McAlester are both currently at SXSW, representing their respective documentaries, "American Prince" and "The Dungeon Master". The festival marks the premiere of Tommy's movie, which was co-produced and edited by Josh Cramer at House of Trim.
"American Prince" revisits the story of Stephen Prince, who Martin Scorsese profiled in his 1978 short "American Boy". Best known for his role as the gun salesman in Taxi Driver, Prince was a true-life raconteur, actor, ex-drug addict, and road manager for Neil Diamond. Scorsese's original short will be screened at select events.
In addition to our film screenings, Ghost Robot also had the unique privilege of presenting a unique day-time show at this years music festival. Put together by Two Syllable Records and I Guess I'm Floating, the show featured some great bands, who you should definitely know, including Bell, Women, Golden Animals, New Villager, and Oh No, Oh My!

It's Official...
Ghost Robot Headquarters can now be found at 25 Howard Street, Third Floor. We made the jump north of Canal St. to a brand new space, which we painted, spackled, wired and decorated ourselves.

Joey recently re-united with Bill Shannon to shoot a commercial for Visa out of Saatchi & Saatchi London.
The shoot took place in Argentina, and was designed to show the ways in which Visa helps make Bill's life "flow" better. You can learn all about it in the the "Making Of".

CIMM To Host EP Retrospective
The Chicago International Movie and Music Festival will be holding a retrospective of Encyclopedia Pictura's work as a part of their first annual festival.
The program takes place this Saturday, and will include their videos for Zion I, Grizzly Bear, Björk, and Seventeen Evergreen, as well as short films and their unreleased commercial for Spore. A question and answer session will follow afterward.
